Bus Stop Theatre Co-op Rental Information
The Bus Stop Theatre Co-op is a community space that is primarily a performance arts rental venue. We rent the main theatre, community room, and lobby.
Theatre rentals are offered on an hourly and daily basis. Community room rentals are offered on a half-day and full-day basis. Lobby rentals are available by Rush Rental only. Member rentals are available to Bus Stop Theatre Co-op Members only.
Please note: Beginning in 2026 we will be adjusting our rental rates. Non-member daily rentals will rise from $550/day to $575 per day. We will be introducing a new member hourly rate for members at Artist level and above. For these members, our hourly rate will lower to $75/hour, while the non-member hourly rate will rise to $85/hour. Rentals made after November 1, 2025 for 2026 dates will be charged this new rate. The rate for member daily rentals will be unchanged.
Important notes:
- Hourly rentals must include enough time for set up and tear down.
- Daily rentals cover a period from 7am-7am.
- Member theatre rental rates are available to only artist and company members. Member community room rental rates are open to all members.
- On statutory holidays, hourly rentals are $100 and daily rentals are $650.
Notice: We are experiencing some noise disruptions in the space due to construction next door. Although most activities will likely be unaffected, rentals on weekdays before 6pm may experience some noise bleed. The result is that some activities (filmed interviews, sound-specific workshops, etc) may be impacted.

Additional Information
The Bus Stop Theatre Co-op is a multi-use performance venue located on Gottingen Street in Kjipuktuk/Halifax. The theatre has been in operation since 2003 and operating as a co-op since 2012. We host over 100 different groups and shows annually and are booked for performances, rehearsals and gatherings of all kinds for 250+ days of the year.
